As all the 13,000 volunteering positions were taken up last August, there are still many jobs constantly being uploaded for different skill sets. To ensure that the games are a huge success they are hiring tens of thousands of contractors who will need people to fill their summer positions. If you fancy a more fixed position working for The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games this summer, then the event will be held across the West Midlands, with 6,500 athletes and team officials from 72 nations and territories joining forces in a celebration of sport and culture, and you can work among them!
From now until July 2022, there are dozens of great opportunities to get involved in the Games, as they will be recruiting a large number of roles across different work areas.

The Ceremonies, Culture & Queen’s Baton Relay (CCQ) deals with the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Queen’s Baton Relay, Sport Presentation, Medals Ceremonies, Athletes’ Welcome, a Schools Learning Programme, a six-month Cultural Festival and a series of Live Sites.

The Communications, Marketing and Media Operations team is in charge of developing and protecting the Birmingham 2022 brand, and raising awareness of the Games through ticketing, volunteering and the Queens Baton Relay. This team also deals with the running of the Birmingham 2022 press office, working with Games partners to deliver community engagement, implementing a comprehensive public affairs programme and creating and optimising all public facing digital media.

The Operations division works with all functional areas at Birmingham 2022 to ensure the successful planning and delivery of the Games. They also play a key role in the Capital Build Projects (Alexander Stadium and Sandwell Aquatics Centre), Competition Venue Planning and Delivery, Games Family Transport requirements, Games Time Security requirements, and the delivery of the sport itself, in order to meet the needs of athletes, technical officials, spectators, Games Family and other stakeholders.
