Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
Pick and mix and a bunch of flowers for a treat night with my best friend
I would give it to my daughter who as a single Mum and carer for her Mum is constantly struggling to pay the next bill. She works part time in the local school kitchens and never seems to stop. She would probably spend it on her 8 year old son but that would give her great enjoyment just being able to treat him.
I’d put it towards an air fryer which I am saving up for. Having seen the costs of running one of these appliances vs my electric oven its an essential for my kitchen
Chocolate, it makes me feel better
I’d spend it on my Tai Chi class which helps me with my back problems.
This is such a lovely idea, mine would go towards putting my heating on – Good luck everyone!
id put it towards my continual rising care bills. then mam has extra left over to buy something nice for her n dad for a nice fresh food meal.
what a lovely thing you are doing to help support your readers.
Congrats! You’re one of our lucky winners. Please can you reply with your email address and we will email you about your prize.
I would donate it to someone who really needed it or a food bank charity.
I would buy Dreamies for my cat.
I would take it out as cash and spend it on fruit and vegetables at the local market. The traders need to be paid in cash because they have to pay a fee for every card machine transaction. Not all of them managed to open up again after the pandemic and they work so hard in all weathers. Also I’ve been cutting back on fresh food which does nobody any good.
