Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
Hi. Bread, marg, milk, potatoes if im lucky. Thank you.
Grocery shopping most likely. Important things first
I would buy some cat food. It is so expensive now
So much that I used to use as my staples are now no longer affordable – except as a treat – these include tuna, corned beef and above all cheese. So despite the myriad of choices I guess I’d treat myself to a cheese of my choice (and anything left over towards a nice crusty roll to compliment it.)
I’d buy a bottle of wine to share with my husband and enjoy relaxing watching a film
Ice cream from the icecream van for my kids, as its a rare treat these days.
I would buy my daughter who is struggling with 3 children and a partner who was made redundant as much as i could get for £5.00, which wouldn’t be much but as much as i could to help.
Hi there
I would buy some fruit and veg for the week ahead and enjoy some new potatos and young carrots plus fruits in season that be the ideal thing to do have a good treat
I would put it towards the £300 that I had to borrow off my mum to get me through the next couple of months. Not exciting but important to me.
Food glorious food!
