Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
Selection of biscuits and strong tea
I would spend it on vegetable seeds to plant in my allotment
I would treat myself to a magazine and a bar of chocolate – it’s been so long since I could justify spending on something so unnecessary but which I’d really enjoy!
I’d treat myself to a cream tea for some well deserved me time.
I would spend my fiver on a big bag of revels as a huge treat to myself!
Would donate it to the homeless man who lives near the station I take to work, he needs it more than me.
I would put it towards a gift for my partner who has supported me financially after I quit my job without another one to go to.
I would buy some colouring & craft items to keep my children entertained over the summer holidays
I’d treat myself to some cherries I can’t justify buying them as a rule.
