Money Giveaway: The cost of living crisis is really getting people down now. With a record number of people taking on second jobs and people frantically googling ‘quick ways to make cash’, we at MoneyMagpie have again decided to put our hand in our pocket and offer some help to readers.
Last year we offered you all a chance to get your hands on a no strings attached free £5 and over 300 of you entered.
Therefore we are again offering 20 readers £5. There are no strings attached at all. Simply comment on the article with what you would spend the fiver on, and then in two weeks, 20 people will be selected to win the money.
MoneyMagpie founder Jasmine Birtles says: ‘It really doesn’t feel much in the greater scheme of things, but if it helps a few people then we are more than happy to step in. We have had a record number of people writing in and asking us how to access quick cash, and in reality there aren’t many ways that are safe to the consumer. Therefore we just wanted to offer them a chance. We are strongly against gambling so didn’t want our readers to go there, therefore it’s simply cash.’
So, as stated above, for your chance to get your hands on a fiver, just answer ‘what would you spend an extra fiver on this month?’ in the comments below. The comments will close at midnight on August 1, 2023.
We will notify the winners on August 2, 2023.
Good luck. We look forward to hearing your answers.
I would buy 3 ready meals, so I know that I would have a hot meal for the next 3 days. I have to buy fresh, as I don’t have a freezer
The £5 would go towards my best friends dental bill. She had an accident in which her teeth were clenched when her head hit the ground (concrete!) and two teeth either side of her jar cracked and split. One was taken out (carelessly and extremely painfully) but the other was left. This became badly infected and now requires extensive work. Has to be done privately. so….. £5 may seem tiny compared to final total but it all helps. Thankyou.
Try and get some food for myself so I can eat something better than just biscuits and crisps
I will take my little girl out for a treat. Buyng her favourite sweets.
I would visit my local Vue cinema that does tickets for £5 and also use my Meekat Movies code on a 2 -4-1 and take my lovely husband Dave.
I would spend the money on the magazine “Grow Your Own” – to make more savings by growing my own fruit and vegetables.
I would spend the £5 on Purina One biscuits for my three cats, who can always make me smile and feel a little better.
I’d buy a bunch of flowers and bar of chocolate for my Mum. She’s 83 with advanced vascular dementia & will be returning home from a stay in hospital soon. As a carer I receive only carers allowance which doesn’t go far so this would be a bonus!
Sorry that she has that. I know how hard it can be. My mum had lewy body dementia and parkinsons
It would pay for a supermarket meal deal when i’m out and about
I would put the money towards getting car through its mot, as it’s essential for getting myself and my daughter to work and scouts, where she is the scout leader.
