I know you can apply for credit card and loan freezes on repayments – https://www.moneymagpie.com/messageboards/topic/credit-card-freeze

I also work in hospitality and it has been hit so hard by coronavirus. I would be keen to get back to work as soon as possible but even when lockdown is lifted I reckon it will take a little while before people will feel comfortable being in busy, confined spaces again.

Unfortunately this seems to be the situation I’ve had as well. I booked a few treatments for the summertime but at the moment I don’t know whether the salon will be open or not so annoyingly can’t do anything yet to try and rearrange or ask for a refund.

Annie – I was just on a zero hours contract, as far as I know though there were only a few staff on permanent contracts that have been furloughed. I saw you mention on one post that in some cases you can contact work and ask them to rehire you and then furlough you. Is that something I can do?

Hi, I got a letter through from my bank yesterday saying that if you go into the first £500 of your overdraft you won’t be charged. Not sure if this is applicable for every bank yet but may be worth checking out.

Hi, I’m a single mum and work in hospitality. Where I worked has closed and I’ve lost all sources of income. Am I allowed to ask for furloughed pay from my employer and also apply for childcare benefits? My furloughed pay wouldn’t be enough to cover all my rent and bill costs.
