MaureenParticipant
A cat…
MaureenParticipantThis is good to know, because my diary is so crazy that it’s hard to commit!
MaureenParticipantYour lucky to have it frozen that long. My fix runs out next year. Would be interested to hear what Jasmine and the team think because it does keep me up at night…
MaureenParticipantWhat you call a witch hunt, I see as holding to account!
Well, let’s agree to differ. Nothing we can say will change things. I’m sure we can both agree that moving forward and getting this virus under control is the best thing to focus on 🙂
MaureenParticipantI know what he did was wrong, and I understand the anger, but he did it to protect his family. He made a mistake, Boris won’t get rid of him, so we need to move on.
As always, the media have made this into a witch hunt, when they should be focusing on more important things.
MaureenParticipantI’m sorry, but I think lockdown is ending far too soon. What progress has been made? What will stop the virus spreading like wildfire again?
Ending it now is irresponsible and will do more harm than good!
MaureenParticipantSimilar thing happened to my daughter. She works in the travel industry (one of the worst affected!!!) and she was told that her employer would cover the costs of her bills but ideally they’d like her to work-through.
I think she was hoping to be furloughed, but I’ll send over this thread to her so she knows where she stands. Very helpful!!
MaureenParticipantI think there’d be a huge backlash if they did start policing shopping baskets! From a legal position, shops offer an ‘invitation to treat’ – which means they’re responsible for what they sell, not what you buy. If the Government decided some things were ‘non-essential’, it’d be the shops’ responsibility to remove the items from the shelves – not your responsibility to not put them in your basket. At the moment, nothing has been officially restricted like this, so as long as you can buy it in the shop you’re fine!
Thanks Annie! I’ve been paranoid buying Easter Eggs with my weekly shop in case they weren’t deemed ‘essential’!!
MaureenParticipantHi Maureen, Thanks for your post. I think that was more of an idle threat so people stay in over the Bank Holiday weekend. Priti Patel herself clarified yesterday that checking supermarket trolleys is ‘not appropriate’, so I don’t think you have too much to worry about. Keep yourself safe, don’t go out shopping unless you have to, but hopefully that eases your concerns.
Oh thanks, that’s good to know. Got no problem with them making sure people are only making essential trips but checking trolleys is a bit too far!!
MaureenParticipantThat’s terrible!!! Name and shame, that’s what I say.
Hopefully someone will be able to help you out here, because it sounds like your employer is out-of-order!
